Wacom graphics tablet on Debian
Table of Contents
Wacom tablets have nice support for GNU/Linux, many of them can work properly after connecting them to computers. This blog records my personal experience on this.
I only tested basic function like: moving mouse pointer, clicking, drawing, and pen buttons. I have not found a way to customize pen buttons’ function yet (because I don’t need this now).
1 Models
Models I have tested are:
- CTL-660, without expression key
2 Different desktop environment
2.1 Xfce
Simple configuration can be found in Xfce’s ‘mouse and tablet’ settings.
Everything work fine.
2.2 GNOME
Simple configuration can be found in gnome’s settings.
Everything work fine, but:
- behaviors on wayland are different: GIMP treat input from graphics tablet as independent input source, with independent drawing pen’s settings. When I switch between mouse and pen, the pen in GIMP will change automatically.
- Pen buttons do not work.
